Who, What, When, Where, Why?
WHO? Work&Learn is 100% volunteer-based. We serve people who have a need to change their lives.
WHAT? We provide resources that people use to take actions to change their lives. Most of the actions reinforce a Biblical Value or upgrade a Career Skill. The mentoring and training curriculum is also in a 158-page Know-How to Change-Your-Life COURSE WORKBOOK available from Amazon in both paperback $4.58 and eBook $0.99. Many find this very helpful by itself.
Volunteers help participants use the resources and take the actions.
WHEN? Online action guides and personal assistance are available continuously. In our first ten years, classes met successively at five churches in New London and Norwich, CT.

For three years during the pandemic classes met virtually on Zoom.
WHY? Helping someone who is homeless, in recovery, a reentrant from incarceration, who has been challenged getting or holding a job, etc., has huge benefits to families and to society.
DO YOU HAVE TO BE A CHRISTIAN TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CHANGE-YOUR-LIFE ACTIONS?
No! Participants do not have to be Christian. We do not screen.
DO YOU HAVE TO BE A CHRISTIAN TO VOLUNTEER IN CHANGE YOUR LIFE ACTIONS? No. The Mentors who give spiritual counseling are Christian. Career Coaches are not required to be Christian.
WHY ARE YOUR ACTIONS ABOUT EVENLY SPLIT BETWEEN BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES AND DEVELOPING EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS?
People have to be prepared to succeed after they get the job they want. Graduates report that spiritual strengthening helps them the most. Many factors contribute to these results:
- Testimonies from classmates who have had their lives transformed
- Inspired teaching by a dozen different skilled and committed pastors
- Christian mentors who help
- Coaches giving professional help and serving as friends
- Questions for discussion that bring out and deal honestly with personal issues
Participants gain strength and confidence and take practical steps to change their lives. We do encourage people to believe the One revealed in the Bible. Results can be judged by the retention rates and promotions gained by Graduates in their work and community service. Also by the number of Graduates who continue as Mentors.

CAN A GROUP TAKE THE COURSE TOGETHER? Yes. That’s the idea. Small groups serve their members, deepen relationships and share their faith.
CAN CHURCHES AND MINISTRIES SPONSOR CHANGE YOUR LIFE CLASSES? Yes. Enrolling and sponsoring a small group in the Change-Your-Life course enables a church or ministry to view the Change-Your-Life ministry as an addition to their own service.
WHAT IS WORK&LEARN INC? Work&Learn Inc is an inter-denominational, Bible-based, 100% volunteer-based, lay led, Christ-centered, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, nonprofit. Pastors and volunteers from dozens of churches instruct, mentor and coach.
